My son's high-school  friend called to say hello. My son was in the bathroom and instead we exchanged pleasantries as we waited for him.  As a financial consultant, I asked if he already got a policy for himself. He was very polite and with a hint of guilt on his voice he admitted he got his car insured, yet he does not have a life policy for himself yet. Being a married man with a kid and a pregnant wife, I quickly explained to him the importance of life #insurance being a breadwinner in the family. THREE IN SIX

Having the very basic things in life is so much to thank for. As I visit a friend and stayed for six hours in an emergency room of a big city hospital, I witnessed three deaths after desperate attempts to resuscitate. I thought about the family they left behind. Life is so precious no amount of money can compensate for one's loss. But leaving your love ones unprepared make their suffering even graver.

As a financial consultant, and an advocate of financial wellness, it made me realize the importance of being prepared. The uncertainty is real. There is no promise of tomorrow.
